Connellsville Micro Resort

The Great Allegheny Passage offers 150 miles of spectacular biking and hiking from Cumberland, Md. to Pittsburgh through Pennsylvania’s Laurel Highlands. Connellsville is a unique point along the GAP trail that passes through the town. This creates a wonderful stop along the way and offers great potential as a regional destination. The proposed project seeks to enhance the trail and Connellsville connection with the addition of a series of places to stay and visit as the trail passes through 3rd Street. It will feature an outdoor gathering space, lodging, retail shops, café, unique treehouses, and more.

The Educational Discovery Center at Brady’s Run Park

The Educational Discovery Center at Brady’s Run Park will be a state-of-the-art, hands-on learning facility to engage the entire community on recycling and environmental awareness. The facility is programmed to provide opportunities that will interest people at all levels, including indoor and outdoor learning areas, educational displays, garden areas for teaching, a woodland play area, and connections to the extensive trail network in the park. As part of a larger park area, the Educational Discovery Center will restore and expand natural habitat environments in the park valley while improving accessibility and ease of access to the park for the community. Beaver County will be leading the way in educating people from across the region and beyond on such topics as to why we should recycle, how to recycle, what does contamination look like, and why we should invest in sustainable practices to keep our communities beautiful, healthy, and economically viable.

Energy efficiency and modern design come together to maximize performance and beauty in this one-story home. The home is organized to optimize views and access between the interior living spaces and the surrounding outdoors. The main living area is central to the home and celebrated with a higher ceiling making the space feel larger for gatherings. The other living spaces flow out from this central area.
