Emily Ussia
Emily developed her passion for community-centered design and the unique conditions of the urban fabric throughout her graduate studies as she focused her studies in urban design. While she pursues architectural licensure, she aspires to create work that not only transforms the physical environment through the design process, but also the lives of the clients and those who live in the surrounding communities. She believes that designers have a unique role and responsibility to create positive change and ensure that everyone’s voice is heard in the design process.
Outside of the office, Emily enjoys biking, drawing (if with colored pencils she will be using Prismacolor pencils, the supreme colored pencil), and spending time with her family and friends.
Emily Ussia graduated with a Master of Architecture and a focus in urban design from the Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative branch of Kent State University. She also received her Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree from Kent State with a minor in construction management, aiming better to understand her collaborators on the construction side of design.
